Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using TheFIREPlan (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

TheFIREPlan is an educational financial planning tool that provides projections, visualizations, and AI-assisted guidance for individuals pursuing Financial Independence, Retire Early (FIRE). The Service is provided for informational and educational purposes only.

3. Not Financial Advice

The Service is NOT a licensed financial advisor, fiduciary, or tax professional. All projections, estimates, and AI-generated responses are hypothetical and based on mathematical assumptions. They do NOT constitute personalized financial advice, investment recommendations, or guarantees of future performance. You are solely responsible for your own financial decisions. Consult a qualified professional before making investment decisions.

4. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

TheFIREPlan offers a free tier and paid Pro subscriptions. Paid subscriptions are processed through Lemon Squeezy, a third-party payment processor. By subscribing, you agree to Lemon Squeezy's terms of service. Subscription fees are non-refundable unless required by applicable law. You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including but not limited to: attempting to access data not belonging to you, interfering with the Service's operation, using the Service for any illegal purpose, or exceeding rate limits in an attempt to degrade service for others.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Service — including but not limited to the design, code, text, graphics, and logos — are owned by TheFIREPlan and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written permission.

8. Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TheFIREPlan shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to financial losses, investment losses, or data loss.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services including Supabase (database and authentication), Google Gemini (AI assistant), Yahoo Finance (market data), and Lemon Squeezy (payments). We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of these third-party services.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
